Don't Tread On Me Flags
We believe that a small government and limited government is the best way to maintain your individual rights. This is what the libertarian party believed, the thirteen colonies believed, and it's what gave rise to American independence through the revolutionary war. A key part in uniting these initially scattered American colonies and armies was the Gadsden flag, made by Christopher Gadsden, which consists of a coiled rattlesnake saying "Don't Tread on Me," with a yellow background. The message being, we will not bother you, but if you trample our liberties we WILL strike back. Under British rule, the continental army, continental marines, and American colonists as a whole, were united under this common idea of "striking back" to defend our freedoms. The Gadsden flag is an established symbol, commonly known in libertarian circles and libertarian groups, representing American patriotism, self defense, and being willing to "strike back" against tyranny.
